Installing tiles with tongue-and-groove joint and (mini) V-groove
Before installation
Aqua Composite tiles are intended for indoor use only and must be stored and installed in a heated room.
Keep the unopened packs at room temperature (between 18°C and 24°C) for at least 48 hours before installation.
In conservatories or rooms with roof windows, allow for prolonged exposure to intense sunlight and high ambient temperatures. If temperatures can become excessively high, the tiles must not be installed in such places.
Inspect all tiles for visible defects before installation. Do not install defective tiles, as claims after installation will not be accepted.
Installation
Make sure the substrate is dry and free of dust and dirt.
Check the wall for flatness; unevenness must not exceed 2 mm under a 1-metre straightedge. Level if necessary.
Measure the area first; if the last row is less than 5 cm wide, adjust the first row so that the first and last rows are roughly the same width. Leave a 5 mm expansion gap on all sides.
Tiles can be cut to size with a utility knife: score the tile and snap it along the cut line. An Aqua Composite SPC cutter, for easy and clean cutting, or a saw can also be used.
The long and short sides of the tiles have a tongue-and-groove joint. To connect two tiles, slide the tongue of one panel into the groove of the other. Always insert the tongue into the groove. The tiles butt together with a small V-groove.
Timber framework (for clip mounting): use 21 x 48 mm battens. Centre-to-centre spacing: 40 cm
The tiles can be installed with adhesive (Aqua Composite MS polymer adhesive) or with clips (Aqua Composite Clips).
Underlays for extra comfort and stability
The right underlay is essential for a stable, durable and comfortable installation of Aqua Composite flooring. Underlays provide an even base, improve walking comfort, reduce noise and contribute to a longer floor life.
With thin, rigid click floors, using a suitable underlay is especially important. The underlay must offer sufficient compressive strength to minimise movement in the click joint. Our underlays are specially matched to Aqua Composite floors and guarantee a reliable and professional end result.

Edge banding for windowsills
For a neat, professional finish on the open sides of SPC windowsills, matching edge banding strips are available. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, they are quick and easy to apply.

SPC cutter
SPC can be easily cut to size by scoring it with a utility knife and then snapping it over an edge. For larger areas, however, a dedicated SPC cutter is faster and more convenient. With this tool, panels up to 66 cm wide can be cut accurately and straight , ensuring a neat and professional finish. Ideal for dust-free work on site.
